2027 Alumni & Friends Travel Plans

Our 2027 Alumni and Friends group trip is Croatia, Slovenia, and the Adriatic Coast. It is set for May 27-June 7, 2027. The 12-day trip begins in Dubrovnik, Croatia and includes stops along the Adriatic Coast up to Slovenia. The trip ends in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

See Dubrovnik’s storied city walls overlooking the pristine blue waters of the Adriatic. Step back in time as you explore the impressive Diocletian’s Palace complex in seaside Split. Wander past emerald scenery and tranquil waterscapes in the famous Plitvice Lakes National Park. And experience “Europe in miniature” in Ljubljana, the stunningly green (and endlessly cultural) capital of Slovenia.The additional 3-day optional extension for this trip is to Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj, Slovenia.

The base cost of the trip is approximately $7,000 per person for double occupancy (additional cost for single occupancy). This price includes airfare from Birmingham (Go Ahead can book your flight from a different airport or you can book your own airfare), 10 nights in handpicked hotels,10 breakfasts, 4 dinners with beer or wine, 9 sightseeing tours, expert tour director, and transportation by private deluxe motor coach. The optional extension to Budapest is approximately $1,000 for double occupancy. The itinerary for the trip includes:

Day 1-2: Overnight flight to Dubrovnik, Croatia and arrival dinner.

Day 3: Guided tour of Dubrovnik and free afternoon or add an excursion (Dubrovnik Coast Cruise and Dinner).

Day 4: Free day in Dubrovnik or add an excursion (Montenegro).

Day 5: Travel to the Split region today. Stop en route for a guided tour of Mostar, a city in southern Bosnia.

Day 6: Guided tour of the coastal city of Split.

Day 7: Travel to Plitvice today. Along the way, stop in two Dalmatian Coast towns for guided tours.

Day 8: Guided tour of Plitvice Lakes National Park.

Day 9: Travel Zagreb with guided walking upon arrival.

Day 10: Travel to Ljubljana with guided tour upon arrival.

Day 11: Free day in Ljubljana or book an excursion (Postojna Cave & Predjama Castle).

Day 12: Travel home.

Day 12: Enjoy a second free day in Ljubljana or book an excursion (Piran: Slovenia's Adriatic Gem).

Day 13: Travel to Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj to discover why Europeans have come to this resort area for decades.

Day 14: Spend a free day in the Lake Bled region or book an excursion (The Julian Alps: Triglav National Park).

Day 15: Departure for home.
